The gearbox comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch as standard, while a quick shift system is available as an optional extra in international markets. Featuring a slip-assist clutch, the Yamaha YZF-R7 is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine incorporates the innovative CP2 cross-plane technology, which includes a 270-degree crank and an even firing order.
