Engine

The updated version features a 1200cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that complies with BS6/Euro 5 standards. It delivers the same power of 90PS and torque of 110Nm as its predecessor. However, the peak torque is now achieved at 4,500rpm instead of 3,950rpm, while power is reached at 7,250rpm instead of 7,400rpm. The engine is still mated to a 6-speed transmission with an assist-and-slipper clutch. In terms of electronic aids, it offers five riding modes and switchable traction control and ABS.

Performance

The engine of the Scrambler 1200 XC is a parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 1200 cc powerhouse that shares similarities with the Bonneville T120’s high torque engine. However, it has a different tuning. The performance of the Scrambler’s engine falls somewhere between the power and torque of the High Torque 1200 cc engine and the characteristics of the Thruxton High Power 1200 cc engine.
