EV Motor, Power & Performance

The Eletre features a dual-motor powertrain, resulting in an all-wheel drive setup that generates an impressive 603 horsepower. Based on our test drive, we believe this power is sufficient to accelerate the Eletre from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Our initial impressions suggest that this performance SUV offers a combination of speed and comfort, although it lacks the agility found in Lotus sports cars. However, the top-tier R variant boasts an astonishing 905 horsepower, which leads us to estimate a zero-to-60-mph time of only 2.7 seconds. This particular model provides a more exhilarating experience on the road but may exhibit unsettling movements and jolts when aggressively accelerating. Once we have the opportunity to test the Eletre in our familiar environment, we will provide further driving insights and test results in an update to this article.

Range, Charging & Battery Life

The base and S trims of the vehicle are expected to have a range of around 315 miles, thanks to their 109.0-kWh battery pack. On the other hand, the high-performance Eletre R is estimated to have a slightly lower range of about 260 miles per charge. We will assess the capabilities of the Eletre by conducting our highway fuel economy and driving range test at a speed of 75 mph once we have access to one for testing purposes.

Interior

The Lotus Eletre comes with a 15.1-inch foldable touchscreen infotainment system, which incorporates the Lotus Hyper OS. It also includes four-zone climate control, electronically adjustable front seats with twelve different settings, and a wireless charger. Furthermore, it offers additional features like an ADAS suite, an air purifier, multi-color ambient lighting, and a KEF sound system comprising fifteen speakers. The electric SUV is offered in both four-seater and five-seater options. Additionally, the interior theme can be customized in six different styles using materials that are completely recyclable.

Fuel Economy & Real-World MPGe

The EPA has not yet released the fuel economy estimates for the Eletre, and we have yet to conduct our own test on this electric SUV. Once we do, we will evaluate its performance on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route and provide an update with the results. All models of the Eletre come equipped with a standard 112kWh battery pack. Both the Eletre and Eletre S feature a dual motor setup capable of generating 600bhp and 710Nm of torque, allowing for a driving range of 600km on a full charge. On the other hand, the more powerful Eletre R also has a dual-motor setup and a two-speed transmission unit, enabling it to achieve a driving range of 490km while producing over 900bhp and 985Nm of torque.

Touchscreen

With a contemporary and advanced interior design, the Eletre SUV showcases a sleek steering wheel and a spacious 15.1-inch touchscreen positioned centrally. It is furnished with a state-of-the-art KED sound system comprising of 23 speakers, along with a panoramic sunroof and an ADAS suite containing four lidar sensors and seven HD cameras. In India, customers can choose between two powertrain options for the Eletre. The base and S trims are equipped with a single-motor configuration that delivers an impressive 597 BHP / 710 Nm, while the Eletre R model boasts dual motors that produce an outstanding 896 BHP / 985 Nm.

Lotus Eletre Rating & Reviews

Eletre as either a four-seater, featuring two individual seats in the rear, or as a five-seater with a three-person bench at the back. Inside the cabin, you will find interesting materials such as microfiber, stitched leather, wool-blend fabric, and milled bronze accents. This combination creates an interior that offers an unexpectedly luxurious experience, which is not typically associated with Lotus’s minimalist and lightweight design approach. The sport seats ensure comfort on long drives, while the switchgear is crafted from aluminum and features intricate knurled details that give off an elegant vibe reminiscent of Bentley.
