KTM made an early entry in India and in less than two years the outfit has made a big mark in the presentation segment. The Austrian bike maker’s next deliveries in India are the RC 200 and RC 390, what will come after that is not yet known. Anyway, our sources have told us that the bike that will be seen after the two RCs are sent is actually the Adventure 1190. However the Adventure 1190 is readily available as a CBU due to its engine displacement of over 800 cc. And while it doesn’t require homologation, KTM plans to assemble the bike locally in India.
The 1190 Adventure features a motor that is a variation of the RC8’s V-twin unit. With the changed specs, the motor produces 150 bhp of power. With a curb weight of 235 kg, the bike comes with features like ride-by-wire technology, multi capability instrumentation, variable motor guide, C-ABS with upgraded mode going mud romping and foothold control. The seat and windscreen can be adjusted to your liking.

Design & style
From various talks and spy shots, KTM is good to send the 1190 Adventure on Indian soil before the end of the current year. We estimate that KTM should price its high-end Adventure bike around Rs 12 lakh. When launched, the KTM 1190 Adventure will compete with the Honda Africa Twin and BMW R 1200GS.
New cruisers include a more flexible breeze screen like the new Victory Tiger Traveler and other Adventure bike like the BMW R1200GS. Based on the rounded space outline, the bike features WP Suspension Up Side Down front forks, WP Suspension monoshock back suspension framework, double 320 mm plate brake with Brembo brake callipers at the front and a 267 mm circle brake at the rear. The bike has 220 mm of suspension travel, supporting 250 mm of ground freedom, and weighs 217 kg. The main difference between the two bike is 220 mm of suspension travel for the ‘R’, while the Adventure has 190 mm front and rear.
The KTM 1190 Adventure incorporates several cutting-edge innovations like computerized console, footing control and tire pressure observing framework. One of the most amazing stopping mechanisms used in a bike is the one supported by Bosch’s 9ME connected ABS system and Bike Soundness Control (MSC).
